Ubiquitous

It's raining - i've been pausing behind windows for hours - i have complained to my house mates about this lousy weather which really interferes with my daily routine...Nothing/nada can be done - i am bored so i thought let's take on some reading! (think of me on the sofa, spectacles on, yes my eyes are usually spotting moving targets - those words ain't moving - need to frame my vision)..so i look at the options - which are what my house mate has to offer...i flip through books, articles, the net...and have you noticed lately how the word UBIQUITOUS is used everywhere??? Are people playing with this or what???

Cold Whiplash

Do you know what i am talking about??? it means i had a cold - like most of you, right? then i thought it was over - but NOOOOO...it's whipping my ass back into my system...therefore Whiplash...you purist linguist can argue with my use of language..it does make sense to me and the result is: i'm on the carpet, breathing heavily (not for good reasons!) and my brain ain't working!!! I take it as an experiment...it is bringing me closer to my sidekick (Whiplash) who seems to be constantly on drugs so i'm on cold medicine! The world is much slower - hunting adventures are not so attractive and i feel naked (therefore i feel cold). Wow...i am talking to myself? it sounds like i am in an empty cave...my echo is catching up with me....Boy, i understand now why they ask for your I.D when you go buy that shit at the store!!

My sidekick

Today i decided to take a sidekick - i have doubts though about our team work cause i'm good on my own - i like to be free and independent and run my own operation.
Since my extended family lives next door - on occasion i let my brothers participate in my hood activities. For instance, i caught a super fat lizard the other day and i let my big brother bring it home. He's got the confidence of a lion so sometimes i have to let him have it! But my sidekick is a totally different thing: okay i have to admit - she's the result of a one night stand - she's my daughter. She's got my soft fur, some of my moves...none of my manners and on the brain side...she's got to be on drugs or something...The girl is clueless i can't take her anywhere: she flips out, she purrs like the entire neighborhood can hear her...and the list goes on! But she's really cute and my housemates luuuuve her - so here comes the deal - i'm a pacifist - let's join ventures!

Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen but often Rudolph on my horizon

So it is December - i totally missed the harvest...and now what do i see on my front yard? Santa Clause's Reindeers...lit, animated...Ready to take off...And the WHOLE neighborhood is competing...night is not night anymore...the street looks like a take-off lane at the airport. So my nights are BUSY - (days are for sleeping)...i get to ride Santa's reindeer...This is like being at the "Happiest Place on Earth"!
But seriously, i have to get to know that species so we can bond- you know? We share the same lawns every year for a short while - they are kind of the elite - crème de la crème would say my french housemate: They've been chosen to be on that Santa's team...pretty special..they go to flying school part of the year, then it is matting season...oh boy, you don't want to be there...i don't know those antlers they freak me out, and comes the migration...so the ones ending up in my front yard are pretty lucky: warm weather, safe - no predators only friendly faces....actually the ones coming to California go to modeling school too...they just luuuve that camera, man...Every shot is a keeper...

Do you have a date with Beaujolais Nouveau???

I do!!! You know one of my house mate is French...so there's no question..i'm going to have to - how do you say - give it my sensory examination and say something intelligent like: it has notes of currant, raspberry and black currant...oh shoot...i let the cat out of the bag...

The art of befriending a magpie or not!

My last adventure in my backyard consisted of climbing that tree - that i love dearly - and checking out what was alive there...and guess what? there was a nest! Now that gives me the goosebumps, my blood goes up and down and my tail is frantically guiding me to THE NEST...so as nonchalant as i can be..i approached the living quarters of Twitty bird. That's when big mama paid attention and attacked me!!! These magpie are CRRRRRAZZZZY.....she's what? the size of a chick pea compare to me but you know what??? she's got some kind of missile firing ability...oh my! i was aiming straight for the ground and even the ground was not enough to hide. I had to imitate a missile flying 2 inches from the ground! That was PART ONE!!!
I did not mention but my little tranquil outing was early on in the day...PART TWO was surviving the rest of the day - considering big mama missile was watching my every moves...yeah I know not very smart to hunt in my backyard...well usually I WIN! So I spent my day literally laying low...Nothing would stop this big mama from attacking me...to the point that my house mates were alerted by the din...and showed up on the patio...that distraction was my way out..I dived for the door....phew....PART THREE consisted of recollecting myself and getting my honor back in 1 word: resting!

French Cuisine - World Heritage List - s'il vous plait...

Yes il me plait...in my plate even...So according to knowledgeable and influential sources the French meal deserves cultural recognition - Boy! you haven't heard my French house mate talking about her family get together...that was no elevating experience...on the other hand it was memorable...she's still talking about it...so what is it?? The food in the plate? the company?...or was it the "little social lubricant" (thx Katie Robbins from LA Weekly - see link).
Well, nobody asked me if my meal is worth a cultural recognition...For one thing it comes in 1 can (and the text on the can doesn't read "pâté de campagne"), it's no four successive courses and no aperitif or meal ending with liqueur..I have to admit after last night dinner i could have used a little digestive: my fav chef of the moment "Morris" went a little heavy on the chopped liver...But let me ask you this, fans of French meals: are your meals giving you a healthy skin and coat? A strong muscle growth? a healthy heart and clear vision???

Spice-up your life

What do you do to spice up your day???
Do you put spiced rum in your coffee in the morning? Do you live a double life? Do you have secrets? Do you make prank calls from work? Do you read soft-porn romance??
Me..I attack stuffed animals....I spy neighbors and....watch me..

Election day

I am frivolous and mind my own business but when comes election day..i stand on my lawn, watch for foot traffic since ...my street leads to the polls...so i am for maximum voters participation...I can strut around like...well MYSELF...and take the pulse of the pedestrians. Now i am wondering...what do people get for voting???
A prize, a toy (like in the Happy Meal)??

Halloween

Yeah, I was planning my next vacations with my pals...Any idea how deep a cat can go????
Disclaimer:No cat was harmed in the process - Photoshop made it fit!

Back from search of the lost arch...

That was a trip! Yes I found many arches all sizes and shapes and aiming at different directions...some I did not even found cause...I guess I was lost in the landscape. It is overwhelming when you can see so far, so deep, so tall...So I spent a lot of time just seating on my behind...feeling very small!

On the road

Hello friends,

Rain - paw prints

I enjoy rainy days cause I get to do some art work..yay!
I mean my paw prints left behind fresh from my outing...this morning I secretly printed my seal of approval on the maps laying on the living-room table - my house-mates are going on a trip...it looks like they are going in nature...i left new paleolithic drawings on the map..hi!hi! I was laughing behind my whiskers! =(^.^)=

Love is an open source

So the software i am using for this blog is an open source i was told. Meaning: all right everybody, come'on in contribute, add to the genius of blogging progress...
wow...isn't that amazing as a concept? as a practical matter it gets more complicated...Isn't like love in our lives...I'm not talking about just ONE...i am talking about all the different kinds of love we experience, give, feel...everybody can participate...well got to be selective somehow, no limitations on supply-demand, but as a feline, being the center of my universe, intercepting multitude petting and kind words, I can tell this love energy got more power than you'd think - and then if not used...what happens?? it evaporates and then what??? it goes to the God and Goddesses out there...it's kind of a boomerang effect?? Don't want to put my paws on a touchy subject...the faith is yours...

Bandaloop or the art of hanging gracefully on a rope

Because i am a feline in demand - i was invited to a great show saturday - yes I do venture outside my pasture once in a blue moon. That was pretty special. What does Bandaloop sound to you? No, it's not a bandana to wear around your head. I'll give you a hint...it takes very flexible bodies, climbing and dancing...you shake those 3 and you've got a great performance!

I've got worms!!!

New chapter in my life: this doc checked my behind, looked at my teeth, my eyes, pocked at my belly...oh ya..ya...
did not like that! and the worst: on a table located on the sidewalk in full public view...I don't know who's idea was that! Anyhow, the sentence was pronounced I've got nasty stuff in my belly...apparently my eyes were an indication..my 3rd eyelid - that's right - I've got 3 - I'm well equipped - indicated that the toxic level in my digestive was a bit too high. Can you believe that people go to school to learn that stuff? I can tell you it doesn't take an MD to figure out it's no gourmet food out there in the yard!!

Electrical storm

PA..PA..smile..flash..smile...flash...Wow..I am not too familiar with thunderstorms - i've been in this world short of 2 years...and I don't remember experiencing this high energy, loud noises coming from above....
Do you remember your 1st thunderstorm??? Any idea what it was like? Well it was a surprise to me! The sound of the universe was being heard! I don't know what was the fuss about. I loved the wild feeling of it. I had a great day hunting a few lezards maybe they could see it coming because they seemed very distracted. The wind was picking up, a few drops came down...don't like that so much - I mean I'm equipped with a super-duper waterproof fur however a big drop landed on my nose...don't like that - too heavy too wet too splashy...so went under cover and was overcomed by the romantic feeling of it all...it was like a frozen moment: nobody moves, no sign of life outside - just the universe tearing up the sky...

One of my habitat

I've got the best Bougainvillea in town! Its my jungle, my fav playground - here is why:
They are thorny, woody vines...I climb through the labyrinth hoping it will sustain my weight..My shaky ascent makes a paper noise - the rattle in my brain makes me want to go further, deeper...and then...my head comes to the surface. I'm covered with everything I collected on my way...which triggers my housemate to burst into laughter...

Another Sunday, another sin

I kept my cool

It's pitch-dark and I'm snoozing like everybody else in the house when suddenly a flash light appears through the window, we hear a knock on the door and the voice says: POLICE.
It's freaking 4:30 am in the morning and we are trying to collect ourselves - I mean my housemates are collecting clothing in order to be presentable when it crosses my mind...oh sugar!...maybe they are here for me??? You know I've got this hobby of delivering gifts to my loved ones - I don't exactly bring them back to their owners...I like to scatter over the neighborhood so maybe it will grow into a collection?? Anyhow, I can see those 2 policemen don't have a sense of humor - I decide to take a very strategic sitting position (near exit) while my daughter - is going bizerk - I mean really: she's running all over the living-room, wild screams come out of her mouth and she's climbimg on the windows to escape..she obviously has problems with cops...Finally housemates and policemen have some kind of exchange...situation is cleared....wrong address....phew...Good I kept my cool!

Big ears...

Open to air waves...
I heard this song on the radio from a Swedish rap/reggae singer (yeah I am fluent in Swedish): "Everybody wants to go to heaven, nobody wants to die!"
Yeah, me first!! Any idea how cats' heaven looks like??? Probably like a large open fur store..Maybe we get to let our coat go - like there's some kind of magnet field (vacuum like) power - you're stripped...back in your birth suit...wait a minute I was born with a lot of hair...aaahhhhh I was special! Some kind of designer gave me gogoboots and socks..I don't qualify as a Tuxedo cat I heard...shrug...Do I need to look like I go to the casino everyday??? Nooooooo....But those gogoboots, man! they take me wherever I want...and I get to act like Brigitte Bardot singing These Boots Are Made For Walkin'...

Family Feud

I was fully enjoying my status of favorite in my house when this little snoot decided to semi-move in...
Yeah let me tell you about my situation. First I was young - did not know better - this Siamese hunk came to me and little did I know, I was expecting a bunch! The surprises of life...so part 2: Reality hits me and my great aunt. We go through the motion and here we go: I've got kittens that I have no idea what to do with...which is fine in my culture...nature takes over and kind neighbors help. In a nutshell, I've got 1 daughter left leaving next door at the great uncle. This little twitt has no clue - no restrain...She springs out of nowhere - starts purring as soon as a hand is about to reach her...mama mia...a total MANIAC! What am I going to do with her???

Busy watching the neighborhood

It's been a while, I've been busy supervising the action in the neighborhood.
My great uncle decided to repaint the house...big deal...a lot of commotion...Boy, the renovation started: you would have seen all of us jumping out of the windows left and right...We don't like too much banging, sanding...Paint residues in our fur..the whole mess - I don't look myself these days...so say the old adage: One must suffer to be beautiful...So after endless cleanings of my coat on a daily basis....Finally the house is back to its original. Looking like the little house on the prairie!

Psychic vision: past, present, future

The other day the craziest idea crossed my mind...Finding someone to read my pads! Imagine that! It's tricky I possess more than one..some dotted blacks some pink..what kind of reading can you get??? Well, my hood is full of ressources..I found some answers...
Alright, I tricked you...all I did was asking family and friends to refresh my memory on some fuzzy past...They still looked at my pads...to see the mileage I get!!
So? How did I get where i am today? The consensus is that i followed my mother to this house (pad destiny), climbing up the stairs to a large yard with many trees and a bit of a jungle...A colony of cats lived there already. That day my mother took me to meet my great-aunt. She was the owner of the house taking care of all of us. I was the youngest. I liked her right away. She was always full of praise for me...I brought her many presents that she proudly exhibited around the house...Unfortunately my great aunt passed away not long ago - I'm still grieving her departure. So the present is in a bit of turmoil right now. All my brothers and sisters still live at the great aunt's house but it's like living in a ghost house. Crisis intervention needed! So in hope of seeing a bit better the future we got together and all looked at our pads for reading...The truth is we are all gypsies so vagabonding between houses and yards is our way of life...Nothing linear there...just meals on time, please!!!

Cars seen from below

You would think that I don't really care about cars...say the aesthetic of it since I have no use for it...except for shelter...so I say yes GO clean energy so my fur doesn't suffer from those leaks of old cars...car owners have no idea what's going on below their engines. Anyhow, I found my favorite car - right my size, peppy and she wears a constant smile. And dressed up like this..oouuhhh she makes me want to jump and knead her hood!!!

Vignette

My life is a collection of vignettes - know what I mean???
I'm not interested in the long term effect...pfff...I live for the moment: I see this - I do this - I eat this - that's the life of a feline my type. I think some of my companions and neighbors could follow my exemple...My life is rich, colorful, dynamic and dangerous!!!...There's exception to the rule of short moments...that is long pleasures: nap time and petting session....Then i am in the infinite!

The Chinese lady gardener

I haven't spoken about my neighbors much - one I like in particular is our chinese lady gardener across the street. I can't keep up with her. She plants constantly different herbs and veggies. She's a maniac - up at 5am to water or not - I should say to moister her plantation. She patiently waters her plants like she'd feed seeds to birds...that must be the magic cause her plants are very happy and grow - if only they would know- to be eaten very fast! Anyhow, this is great entertainment to me, to see the landscape change so often - I don't use it as a litterbox though I respect her green hands. She means to nuture and feed her appetite for green. She's got talent! and many different garden gloves to suit that talent...you are in the secret...I loooovvvve garden gloves and take them as gifts to my fav people! The Chinese lady doesn't seem to mind - she seems to think it comes with gardening....to lose stuff...She's too involved recreating some distant land.

The happiest people on Earth

Tuesday, 3. August 2010, 01:36
So many things have happened in the last few days...let's go to the essential:
i'm going to enter a Punjabi dance talent show! That's the scoop of the day...This dance is pure joy and very contageous. I will have to attend an immersion Punjabi dance program. Imagine that big smile on my face while pounding my feet!!
But 1st I have to "borrow" a Sari...You know about my "activities" in the neighborhood...that hunt is challenging though...I've never seen someone wearing a Sari around here...and I can go far to find what I fancy but Artesia...that's a stretch...This mission is going to take some thinking...

Spiderman in my whiskers

I don't know if I mentioned but my place is full of webbs..consequently full of spiders...I love them anytime of the day...I carry them on my coat, I eat them for snacks when I need proteins and the list goes on but today...
One got caught in my whiskers...and I could not figure it out what was wrong with my GPS functions...Whiskers are THE ULTIMATE technology to felines...ask any of them and they'll tell you "cut anything you want but not my powerful connectors - that includes my antennas".
So I'm running around as usual, casual day, sun is shinning, time to go into the shades...I find myself a nice spot in the high dry grass...nap for a while then I hear activity at the house so I snap out of my zzz's and jump on to the patio...but then my roommate burst out laughing and her hands keeps aiming at my whiskers...which freaks me out: that's a big no-no don't mess up with my equipment. So finally I lay down under a chair and do an inventory of the situation...it seems that a crawling insect is intertwined in my right whiskers...It is a tiny orange spider (using my whiskers as a trapeze..just kidding). Then a flashback came to mind..my roommates were watching the movie Spiderman (Spiderman is said with a thick French accent..that makes it much more powerful!!!) and I thought "What if it would be it?" Since when Spiderman is visiting a gypsy for advice???

Oscar is in trouble

So it is in the news....I better keep my cover...one of us has been busted! My activities are strickly a demonstration of love to my roommates...and the love of a hunt...the best games of all! I don't think my roommates see a rhyme or reason to my picking..well when it comes to size and shape I'm off most of the times...except for the occasional dirty rag...Anyhow, i will not reveal my sources!!
Busted

Sitting on the kitchen table

Grrr...tough morning - I feel groggy...maybe I ate one too many lezards yesterday..I don't know but I'm standing on the kitchen table wich is my supervision post..eyes in a daze...my brain is "en veilleuse" says my French roommate...
Veilleuse being those nightlight that deems the light to the minimum...Get it? My brain is fed with very little energy or at least the energy is getting stuck somewhere. Anyhow, there's commotion in the kitchen and I'm debating what should be my strategy this morning: do i lay there like a dead cat or an old furniture? do i move my ears like i'm paying attention and ready to jump on any opportunity to show my grooves and moves...Too late...everybody's left already...Well anyhow, now that I gathered my thoughts (the smell of coffee gets me going), I'd like to disgress on my love for tables...I love them! all of them...Easy climb, situated in mid-air, like on a tray I feel I'm moving from room to room, I'm the trophy in a room! You know, I sit my base here and there, my roommates pet me like they want to dust me, they carry me around, don't like me on the dinner table during meals though, but I do sleep with them...we've known people who slept with their trophies...ask some Oscars recipients...I bet you some do! So I'd say I spend a good 44% of my time on tables...now that doesn't include the washing machine which is also a flat surface in elevation..but it doesn't have feet...you see my affinities with tables are linked to my 4 legged status..wow..wow..wow...where is your mind going...Time to scratch the trees, hunt lezards, kick some butts, take a long siesta in the rosemary bushes, check out the neigbor's yard...she's planting all sorts of weird stuff...whew..as long as it does'nt end up in my plate...I'm out of here fellows!

Sadhana or morning practice

Every morning between 4am and 7am I sneak out of the house to do my morning Sadhana...
Before the sun rises, I find a cool spot, do a set of Kundalini Yoga exercises, sing some mantras and do meditations...It is said that for every hour of morning Sadhana, you get ten hours of guidance and clarity!!!****
This guidance brought me to India once on a mission. I landed in Bangalore - the street full of people and activities overwhelmed me at first then I met a taxi driver who took me to a sanctuary. A place of peace and tranquility. I stayed there a couple of days to adjust to this new culture and then I went on my mission: a pilgrimage to the Buddhist temple where Buddha sat under a tree and became enlighted.

Week-end plans

Guess what??? I'm home alone this week-end...My human companions are going on some kind of water adventure...not for me! I mean it is a myth that cats don't like water...My friends from Venice beach, they are naturals in the water...I was born in a forest so I'm more of a climber...anyhow, I'm busy planning parties on my social networks....and my ghost writer has to go...Ciao...(^_^)

Thursday, July 15, 2010

Parties

Parties...parties...I love them...last night if I understand correctly...the excuse was some French celebration...I don't think French cats have a richer history...
You have no idea what a party is to me...many..many..many hands caressing my fur...Let me enjoy it one more time...many...many hands...I don't care about the food or drinks..really I'm interested in the conversation...My dilemna
is with my super stereo sound system ears, I collect all sounds, mixed it in 1 channel and end up with some non-sense noise...so when you catch the look on my face and wonder what I'm thinking...well guess what? I'm confused about the state of the world...I'm glad I'm a gypsy!

Underwear

Saturday, 10. July 2010, 03:37

I brought my catch as far as I could...I was exhausted after my night hunt...
Went to bed. The following morning my roommates found my treasure hunt....a boxer short not very sexy and somehow drenched by what??? I'm not sure...not the morning dew for sure....Was I so spaced on my last outing that I robbed a washing machine in cycle??? Can't be possible...anyhow, there's tons of unanswered questions in this world, let's add another mystery to this day...So, I digress
I don't think my roommates understand the meaning of my hunt...speech is not my first language...The question is what's the need for underwear??? Do I wear underwear? I've got this natural fur of mine...elastic, soft, warm, cooling effect when I need too, anti-chock just to name a few...What's the use of superficial pieces of fabric, getting dirty, wet, entangled etc..
